On 29 September 2024, Edward Liu, Partner at Haiwen & Partners LLP, participated as a panel speaker at the esteemed forum organised by the Asian International Arbitration Centre (AIAC) and China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC). The event, titled "Seat of Arbitration: Discovering the Fundamentals of International Trade and Investment Disputes", was a significant component of the China Arbitration Week held in Beijing.

During the event, Edward Liu shared his extensive expertise and insights on critical issues concerning international arbitration, drawing from his vast experience in handling commercial, investment, trade, and maritime disputes arising from Belt and Road projects. Together with other panellists from Mainland of China and Malaysia, his discussions delved into various pertinent topics, including the enhancement of investor confidence in Belt and Road projects through the strategic role of arbitral institutions. Edward Liu also explored the evolving geopolitical landscape and its influence on the selection of arbitration seats for international disputes, particularly in the Asian region.
