Together with other panellists from Mainland of China and Malaysia, his discussions delved into various pertinent topics, including the enhancement of investor confidence in Belt and Road projects through the strategic role of arbitral institutions. Edward Liu also explored the evolving geopolitical landscape and its influence on the selection of arbitration seats for international disputes, particularly in the Asian region. Additionally, he examined the impact of cultural differences on arbitration outcomes between Chinese and other Asian parties, emphasizing the importance of institutions like CIETAC, Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC), and AIAC in bridging these cultural gaps effectively.
